Devolution, Revolution and Evolution - Regeneration Dinner

Berwick Partners, alongside colleagues from Odgers Interim, recently hosted our latest Regeneration Dinner at the top of the iconic Cube building in Birmingham.  Overlooking the City’s transforming landscape and ongoing development schemes such as Paradise Circus and Arena Central (soon to be home to HSBC UK’s head office) the event provided an opportunity for discussion and debate about some of the challenges facing our cities, towns and local communities.

The dinner, titled Devolution, Revolution and Evolution, was chaired fabulously by Alexandra Jones, Chief Executive of Centre for Cities and brought together Local Government leaders responsible for Place, Regeneration and Economic Development as well as a representatives from the private development sector. Alexandra shared Centre for Cities’ recent research on the impact of Brexit, devolution and the emergence of Metro Mayors, as well as the impact of automation and how technology might impact on our cities in the future.  The evening provided an excellent forum for discussing some of these issues and the opportunity for local leaders to give their own perspectives on the future of regeneration and place making across the UK.

Commenting on the event,  Marek Dobrowolski Berwick Partner’s Regeneration and Place lead said: “As the only leading Executive Search firm with a dedicated Place, Regeneration and Economic Development practice we welcome the opportunity to provide a forum for Place Makers to come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our local areas. This is an exceptionally exciting time for the sector which is playing an increasingly vital role in shaping our communities,  but also providing the necessary funding for local government to continue delivering high quality public services.”

Berwick Partners host regular events and roundtable discussions across both the public and private sector with members of the policy community. If you have any further questions about our work in this area please contact Marek Dobrowolski .
