Aemilia Lovatt – from Financial Services to Healthcare recruitment

I joined Berwick Partners almost six years ago as a consultant in the Healthcare practice.

I came to the business with a great deal of recruitment experience, having recruited into financial services for 12 years, but had made the decision to change market. Berwick gave me the opportunity to achieve this change in direction.

From the beginning, it was apparent that I was joining a much more professional organisation – well-led and with high calibre consultants. I started out by focusing on both public and independent healthcare recruitment; I enjoyed the challenge of learning a different market and experienced a good balance between autonomy and support.

I was promoted to Principal Consultant in 2017 which was formal recognition of my successful transition. I focus solely on independent healthcare now and thoroughly enjoy my remit from a client, candidate and market perspective. I was very fortunate that Berwick took a chance on my sector change, and I know that my success has led to internal confidence around hiring consultants into different sectors here – which I consider a result!
