Odgers Berndtson & PwC Annual Yorkshire Board Dinner

Last week the Odgers Berndtson Group and PwC hosted their Annual Yorkshire Board Dinner in Leeds.

Guest speaker for the evening was Stephen Martin, Director General of the Institute of Directors (IoD), Britain’s longest-running organisation for business leaders.

Throughout his speech Stephen covered a range of topics pertinent to the regional and wider business community. Some of his messages included:

• The impact of genuine and real leadership, particularly in uncertain times, regardless of where a business is based and operates.
• The importance of thinking globally as well as locally and have strategies to match accordingly.
• Brexit outcomes and how the eventual opportunities can be harnessed should be the focus of conversations on this topic.
• Uncertainty is new normal and a potential opportunity for those who can embrace this.

Virginia Bottomley, Head of the Board Practice at Odgers Berndtson, chaired a lively Q&A session following Stephen’s speech, allowing guests to delve deeper into topics of interest.
