About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director to join our Place Advisory Team in London. This Advisory Service Line is a growth area of our business and advises on some of London’s most significant projects, working across a range of public and private clients.
The candidate will need demonstrable experience in both transactional or advisory roles and have an excellent understanding of the London Real Estate market. We are looking for an ambitious leader, who possesses a diverse and practical skillset, is adaptable to meet our clients' evolving needs, and has the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams on large scale, residential led and commercial led mixed-use projects.
The role will provide strategic and commercial advice, typically to senior clients and establish and build “top table” relationships that AY can leverage across multiple business groups over several years to secure profitable revenue throughout the property cycle. This role will build strong, meaningful and trusted relationships across our diverse current and future client base.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join our established specialist team based in London and playing a pivotal role in supporting the growth of our national service line. Reporting to the Head of Place Advisory, they will work closely to manage existing projects and support the growth of the team through business development.
A fundamental part of the role is to establish and foster cross office collaboration and leadership as part of the national service line. Additionally, the role will seek to deliver the financial targets and contributions agreed for the business group and specifically the Place Advisory business and in doing so manage commercial and reputational risk.

We are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader with a strong advisory track record in in development and regeneration and its broader benefits, coupled with a solutions-focused mindset, within the London and South East market. The candidate should be passionate, enthusiastic, patient, and capable of long-term strategic thinking while maintaining a focus on optimising results for clients.
You will have proven experience in managing complex, long-term projects requiring cross-team support, including collaboration with sector-specific or specialist teams within Avison Young and external consultants. The candidate should excel in building and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally, with the ability to seek out and win new business.
