Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services - Care Quality Commission

Remuneration: ESM2 - £131,301 - £146,500

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is one of the most important bodies in the health and social care system in England. Our purpose is to ensure health and care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and to encourage those services to improve.

The past 12 months have been very challenging for CQC and our new Chief Executive, Sir Julian Hartley, is galvanising the organisation to action. We have embarked on a major programme of change and improvement that will take our organisation into the future as an expert regulator.

We are committed to ensuring that our regulation is more relevant to the way care is now delivered, more flexible to manage risk and uncertainty, with an ability to respond in a quicker and more proportionate way as the health and care environment continues to evolve. While our role as a regulator does not change, we need to continue to evolve the way that we work. Sir Julian has identified a number of immediate priorities and foundational improvements that we are focused on.    

We have appointed several new leaders to our organisation in recent months and our next key appointment is an Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services who will provide strategic leadership across all our corporate functions. As a key member of the Executive Team and Board, the postholder will ensure that the organisation is underpinned with highly effective corporate and customer services, that support our people and deliver value for money in everything we do.
