We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to the role of DVC Business and Social Sciences. They will succeed Professor Joanna Ballard, who steps down later in 2025. Reporting to the VC/CEO as a key member of the University Executive Board, with responsibility for managing the individual subject leads. The DVC Business and Social Sciences will lead an ambitious growth agenda for the portfolio, driving strategic diversification of professionally accredited courses and ensuring continued accreditation with relevant bodies. They will also support the VC/CEO in further developing and implementing the University’s Strategic Plan, and will deliver sector-leading, technology-enhanced pedagogy for our current and future students and client firms. The DVC Business and Social Sciences will be crucial in ensuring student success through leading on the strategic implementation of practical and applied research, and through managing and exploiting the exciting opportunities presented by automation, AI, and associated technologies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of the regulatory and commercial context of higher education, as well as an over-arching awareness of the need for efficiency and value for money in everything that we do.
