About the Role
As Managing Director, UK, you will report to the Regional Managing Director for Europe and Australia and serve as the senior leader for Destination Canada in the UK market. Your primary responsibility will be to define and execute a long-term market strategy that aligns with Destination Canada’s global vision and delivers transformational growth.
You will lead the development and implementation of integrated marketing, travel trade, and public relations programs that resonate with UK audiences and position Canada as a top-of-mind destination. You will champion Canada’s brand in the UK, using bold storytelling, innovative media strategies, and emerging technologies to engage travellers and drive demand.
A key part of your role will be to build and nurture strategic partnerships—with industry leaders, travel trade partners, media, and government stakeholders—that enhance Canada’s brand equity and unlock new opportunities for investment and collaboration.
You will also be responsible for overseeing the performance of all UK market activities, using data and analytics to measure impact, refine strategies, and ensure a strong return on investment. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability within your team and across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for a visionary, commercially astute leader with a deep understanding of the UK tourism market and a passion for Canada.
You will bring extensive experience in strategic marketing, brand leadership, and partnership development, ideally within the tourism, travel, or destination marketing sectors. You will have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, managing complex multi-channel campaigns, and delivering measurable business results.
You will be a confident communicator and relationship builder, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and representing Destination Canada at the highest levels. Your ability to think strategically, act decisively, and inspire others will be key to your success in this role.
You will also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and emerging trends. A strong understanding of digital marketing, travel distribution channels, and the potential of AI and emerging technologies will be highly valued.
