Head of Campus, Puxi - Shanghai American School

Shanghai American School (SAS) is seeking an exceptional international school leader to take on the role of Head of Campus, Puxi, with a start date of summer 2026.

 

Shanghai American School, an independent, non-profit, coeducational English-language day school, offers an American and IB Diploma curriculum from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 for families living in Shanghai. With campuses in Pudong and Puxi, SAS is the largest international school in China, known for its vibrant academic programme, high academic standards and commitment to shaping ethical global citizens through and inspiring and creative learning environment.

Reporting to the Head of School, the Head of Campus oversees all operations, community relations and crisis management related to the school’s Puxi site, and reports directly to the Head of School. The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader and team player, committed to high standards in teaching and learning and exceptional pastoral care. They will be internationally minded, appreciate and engage with the local culture, bringing the best of global education and innovative thinking, with a collaborative and supportive approach. Building strong relationships with staff, students, and parents, as well as with the wider SAS community, is essential.

 

This role is ideal for an ambitious and forward-thinking individual with diverse leadership qualities and a genuine affinity for SAS's ethos and values. Experience of the Advanced Placement and the IB Diploma Programme are preferable, and a proven track record of senior leadership in international settings and in innovative and forward-thinking educational programs and initiatives is essential.
