ISLA is a leading industry association, representing the common interests of securities lending and financing market participants across Europe, Middle East and Africa. It supports and advocates for its diverse global membership comprising institutional investors, asset managers, custodial banks, prime brokers and service providers.
ISLA plays a pivotal role in the creation and promotion of market best practices and processes, thought leadership, standards for legal frameworks, and securities lending guides and related documents. It sponsors the Global Market Securities Lending Agreement (GMSLA) and the annual enforceability review in over 65 jurisdictions globally.
The opportunity
ISLA is looking to appoint a new CEO to lead the organisation through its next stage of growth and development. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to have positive impact on the future of the securities finance industry and wider capital markets.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading engagement at a senior level with all market stakeholders including members, regulators, policy makers, lobby groups and other financial services trade associations. This will include primary responsibility for ISLA’s advocacy, lobbying and senior-level policy engagement efforts.
- Developing and overseeing the successful delivery of the strategic business plan, working closely with the ISLA Board and owning the annual budget.
- Leading, motivating, and inspiring a high performing and engaged team within a respectful and inclusive culture.
Priority skills and experience
As CEO, you will bring:
- Strategic leadership experience with proven ability to lead and motivate teams and establish a consistent culture of positive values, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Excellent communication skills with the experience of collaborating with and influencing senior leaders across varied stakeholder groups and jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of the evolution of the securities lending market and new product strategies and solutions, combined with a forward-thinking approach to advocating for the industry and future-proofing ISLA and the interests of members.
