About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead our board as Chair, securing the national profile of the project. This pivotal role will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Northern Gateway MDC, ensuring effective governance and performance. The Chair will represent the vision and purpose of the corporation, facilitate board meetings, and ensure that all decisions are made in the best interest of the organisation and its stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Northern Gateway enjoys recognition as a nationally significant project.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the corporation’s strategic plan.
  • Ensure the Board operates within its governance framework, adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the performance of the corporation against agreed targets and objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Chair Board meetings, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and effectively.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a leadership role within a similar organisation or sector, with a track record of success. They should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, along with a strong understanding of governance, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. They will have a wide network of influential connections to maximise the profile and exposure of the project. A high level of integrity and ethical standards is essential.
