Group Chief Executive Officer - BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT - Swindon (Headquarters) (Hybrid Working) - £150,000-£180,000 + benefits

The Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead BCS into the future. As CEO, you will shape the strategic direction of our organisation, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the IT profession. You will drive our mission to support IT professionals at every stage of their careers, influence policy, and create impactful networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction and maintain the long-term financial stability of BCS.
  • Oversee the performance of the Institute and BCS Learning & Development (L&D) business.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for the Institute in collaboration with the Trustee Board.
  • Inspire and lead the Executive Team to achieve strategic goals.
  • Champion BCS and represent the organisation to external stakeholders.
  • Drive the importance of professionalism in digital practitioners and lead on key topics such as climate change, equality, diversity, and inclusivity (ED&I), and digital poverty.

About You:

  • Proven inspirational leadership and change management skills at the board level.
  • Significant experience as an executive leader of a complex, purpose-driven organisation.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Experience in organisational relationship management and building consensus.
  • Knowledge of the digital sector and its challenges and opportunities.
