Managing Director, Economic Insight And Delivery - Enterprise Cheshire And Warrington - UK, Up to £100k

Managing Director, Economic Insight And Delivery, Enterprise Cheshire And Warrington

Enterprise Cheshire & Warrington (ECW) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to support businesses, as well as current and prospective investors to deliver sustainable and inclusive economic growth in all parts of the Cheshire and Warrington economy. The successful candidate will build and draw on a strong body of intelligence and insight about the Cheshire and Warrington economy and the investment opportunities it offers. This will ensure that ECW provides well-informed and effective advice and support to elected leaders, the business community, and investors.

As a member of ECW’s senior leadership team, you will lead the work of the teams that operate directly with the business community. This includes the Growth Hub, the Skills and Employment team, and the Land, Property, and Enterprise Zone team. The postholder will take particular responsibility for building a strong body of intelligence about all aspects of the C&W economy. This intelligence will inform the work done by the sub-region’s LAs and that done by Marketing Cheshire to promote C&W as a great place to live, work, invest, study, and visit.

Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting Cheshire and Warrington’s Business Advisory Board, ensuring it provides well-informed advice that shapes economic development policies. Your leadership, post General Election, will be crucial in guiding our business-facing and growth delivery teams, focusing on land and property, employment and skills, and business support & inward investment.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding and experience of local economic development and regeneration, alongside the various factors that combine to make effective places. We are actively seeking candidates from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Your experience might be rooted in the public sector, the private sector, or perhaps a combination of both operating at the juncture of these two sectors. What is critical is that you are equally comfortable working with senior private and public sector stakeholders, demonstrating an understanding and appreciation of their differing perspectives.

We would be particularly interested in your experience with guiding teams or organisations towards strategic goals, which includes monitoring the external environment and understanding its potential impact on the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the economic development of Cheshire and Warrington. If you believe you have the skills, experience, and passion to take on this role, we would love to hear from you.
