CFO, Midlands based manufacturing company, Excellent salary, plus bonus, LTIP & car

Core Responsibilities:

  • Core member of the Board and of the Executive Team driving the company’s ambitious growth plans.
  • Development of the finance function, ensuring it delivers a high-quality finance service to the business with timely and useful management accounting and information (KPI’s) and meets all external statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support and challenge of the leadership team, using high quality financial analysis and MI to ground judgments and ensure resources are used effectively. This will include review of strategic investments as well as operational and commercial issues.
  • Manage the key internal and external stakeholders (professional advisors, banks and investors), including presenting financial information, investor relations.
  • Ensure the financial resilience of the business, managing cash/treasury and supporting the CEO on risk identification and management.
  • Drive strategic decisions through insightful reporting and analysis.
  • Safeguard the company’s assets through risk management and insurance oversight.
  • Proactively manage cash flows to sustain growth.
  • Navigate banking and debt instruments for optimal financial health.
  • Maximise funding opportunities, identifying grant funding whenever possible.
  • Provide strategic support for commercial decisions and contracts, maximising cashflows, revenues and margins wherever possible and managing risks.
  • Oversee IT functions for enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with auditors to maintain compliance and drive improvements.
  • Your leadership will be instrumental in securing financial resilience and fostering sustainable growth in the manufacturing landscape.

  • Hands-On Approach: The ideal candidate is willing to roll up their sleeves and delve into details when necessary, ensuring a thorough understanding of our financial landscape.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrating strong commercial judgment, candidates should proactively identify and capitalise on opportunities that benefit the business.
  • We require a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Influential Leadership: The successful candidate will possess the credibility and gravitas to influence stakeholders both internally and externally, fostering strong relationships with advisors and investors.
  • People Leadership: As an experienced people leader, the CFO will develop and empower the finance function to provide high-quality support to our growing business. Moreover, the ability to inspire and lead teams beyond finance is crucial. Previous experience managing IT is advantageous.
  • System Optimisation: A proven track record of maximising the use of financial systems is essential. Experience with SAP is beneficial.
  • Industry Experience: Preferably, candidates will have experience in general volume manufacturing.
  • Humility, without ego, integrity and a “people-person” with a high EQ as well as IQ.
  • Team player: Core member of the small executive team who are driving the company to success.
