  • Headquartered and listed in London, UK, with revenues of £2.6 billion and EBITDA £265 million (2022), the group employs 4,400 people globally, with 37 manufacturing sites and 4 Centres of Excellence in the UK, Germany, Malaysia and in the USA.
  • With recent investment in R&D, production, and people (sales and technical), the company is now looking to appoint a Commercial Director to oversee, develop and implement the growth strategy for the Batteries sector.
Role
  • The Commercial Director (Batteries) is the strategic and tactical leader responsible for global specialty growth in this segment. This role will drive aggressive growth of existing battery binder latex sales globally, while establishing a strong sustainable foundation and team that will feed the development of innovative and differentiated market solutions in this rapidly evolving space.
  • This is a global role that requires technical expertise, intimate knowledge of energy trends and market dynamics, with experience initiating and executing on profitable commercial agreements. 
Person
  • You will be a proven commercial business leader within the Energy / Battery Materials industry, ideally with P&L responsibility experience, and a track record of success in delivering consistent and profitable sales growth. An established commercial director, or a business leader who is ready to take the next step; you will ideally have EV and/or Energy Storage market experience, dealing with the major battery manufacturers in China, with exposure to the development of European markets.   
  • You will be familiar with leading a sales-led business that has experienced fast-growth, where you will have strengthened its development through the implementation of robust leadership.
  • Comfortable being hands-on and customer-facing, you will possess strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, and to lead from the front.
