IT Director – FMCG / Manufacturing – UK-Based

We are partnering with a UK-based food manufacturing business to appoint an IT Director to lead its technology function. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role within a multi-site, matrixed organisation. Which, following a period of strategic transformation is focused on operational optimisation, innovation, and future growth.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Transformation Officer and play a pivotal role in shaping how technology enables performance, innovation, and future growth, as well as supporting with acquisitions, integration and an upcoming major office relocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic and operational IT delivery across a multi-site UK manufacturing network.
  • Optimise enterprise platforms including SAP S/4HANA, Power BI, and Azure.
  • Oversee infrastructure, networks, and on-prem systems to ensure resilience and scalability.
  • Act as a business partner to commercial, supply chain, and operational leaders.
  • Drive capital investment in site infrastructure - cabling, networks, WLAN, and hardware.
  • Explore opportunities to apply AI and advanced analytics to further enhance operational efficiency and digital maturity.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a commercially minded IT leader with:

  • Experience in FMCG, food, or manufacturing sectors, ideally within established organisations of £200m turnover+, across multi-sites of 500+ users.
  • Proven experience integrating SAP S/4HANA (FI/CO, MM, PP, SD), Power BI, and Azure, combined with a strong understanding of infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing lean IT teams across multiple locations and ideally comfortable operating in a matrixed structure.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies and a able to demonstrate a current passion for driving innovation through AI and data.

Location & Flexibility

The role is ideally based at the company’s London headquarters, operating within a hybrid model. However, applications are welcomed from candidates based at other UK sites aligned to the company’s footprint. Regular travel throughout the UK is expected as part of a typical working week.
