Trustees – Veterans’ Foundation – Flexible Location – Unremunerated

Join the Veterans’ Foundation as a Trustee. Help shape the future of one of the UK’s fastest-growing charities supporting our Armed Forces community.

The Veterans’ Foundation is seeking a number of passionate and committed individuals to join the Board as Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and impactful organisation that has already awarded over £25 million in grants to more than 540 military charities, supporting over 1,000 life-changing projects.

About the Veterans’ Foundation

Founded in 2016, the Veterans’ Foundation exists to provide vital financial support to military charities and organisations that help veterans and their families. From tackling homelessness and mental health challenges to supporting employment and family welfare, our work is wide-reaching and deeply impactful.

Our primary funding source, the Veterans’ Lottery, now has over 140,000 players, making it one of the largest in the UK. With continued growth, we are scaling up our operations and infrastructure to meet increasing demand—and we need your expertise to help guide us.

  • Help shape the strategic direction of the Foundation.
  • Ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the executive team in delivering our mission.
  • Serve on one or more sub-committees (Finance, Audit & Risk; HR & Remuneration; or Grants).

This is a voluntary role (expenses reimbursed), requiring a commitment of up to one week per year, including four board meetings annually (in London or Edinburgh) and virtual sub-committee meetings.
