Leander Club, a world-renowned cornerstone of British rowing, is seeking an exceptional General Manager to uphold its prestigious legacy while shaping its future. With over 200 years of history and a base in Henley-on-Thames, the Club serves as a social hub for its 3,500 members and a training ground for elite international athletes. Reporting to the Chairman, the General Manager will provide visionary leadership, ensuring the Club continues to thrive as a beacon of sporting excellence and exclusive hospitality.
This pivotal role offers a diverse remit, encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight. You will spearhead the development of our state-of-the-art clubhouse, enhance dining, accommodation, and member services, and manage a dynamic team of nearly 30 staff. Your influence will extend to fostering partnerships, driving commercial opportunities, and maintaining the highest standards across all aspects of Club life. As a key figure within the organisation, you will work closely with the volunteer Committee, engage with members, and represent Leander Club on the national stage.
We are looking for a seasoned leader with significant hospitality experience, proven commercial acumen, and a track record of inspiring teams. Strong communication skills, a member driven approach approach, and a passion for excellence and strong attention to detail are essential. Whether you are a strategic thinker or operational expert, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact at one of the UK’s most iconic sporting institutions. If you have the vision and capability to lead Leander Club into its next chapter, we want to hear from you.
