Berwick Partners are delighted to be working with Finlays to recruit a permanent Head of Data & Analytics. Based from either Pontefract in Yorkshire, or London you will lead the Data function, managing a Group BI & Data Manager, reporting to the Group Head of Technology. As well as indirectly supporting offshore resources and working with the Group IT team and global IT managers as well as Finance, MDs and external vendors.
IT in Finlays is undergoing a transformation to help support the wider business to grow globally. This transformation requires an innovative approach on how Finlays consider business value, with a strong understanding of the vital role data plays in generating positive business outcomes. Finlays are piloting a modern integration, data & analytic platform using Azure and PowerBI and dataverse solution Cinchy.
This role will support Finlays to realise maximum value from these investments, and help mature the business around customer focus, process integration, data excellence and insight generation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of business/IT strategy and how data needs to inform and enable this strategy.
- Partner with the business to promote the importance of data and data frameworks to drive business outcomes.
- Frame data and analytics in terms of revenue growth, innovation, customer value and risk management.
- Design and implement data strategies.
- Data architect for the organisation informing broader IT transformation.
- Lead, motivate and manage disparate teams both directly and indirectly.
- Oversee the collection, storage, management, quality and protection of data.
- Implement data privacy policies.
Key experience
- Analytically minded with a good understanding of business and data strategy.
- Deep knowledge of modern data governance including data classification, global vs local definition of data objects, on-prem vs cloud management of data.
- Strong knowledge of MS Azure, Fabric, Power BI.
- Experience leading a data & analytics transformation, ideally in a global setting.
Candidates with broad knowledge of digital capabilities including Salesforce, Power Automate, ML, Web and Mobile UX would also be desirable as the Data Hub strategy for Finlays will be a key enable for all such future efforts.
