Income, Growth & Marketing Director – English Heritage – London Head Office (or a minimum of 2 days per week in London if the candidate lives elsewhere). National role, so regular travel is required to EH sites, nationally – Competitive Salary

At English Heritage, we are a world leader in the care and preservation of historic sites and monuments. Our National Heritage Collection is the nation’s outdoor museum of national history, spanning from ancient prehistory to the Cold War. We aim to bring England’s history alive for visitors through immaculate historical and archaeological research, pushing the boundaries of interpretation.

Since 2015, we have grown into an independent charity, improving the condition of our historic estate, investing in new visitor experiences, and transforming interpretation. However, we need to grow our membership, visitor numbers, and enter new markets to ensure financial stability. We are also becoming a more active fundraising entity, emphasising our charitable purpose of engaging broad audiences in their sense of identity and place.

The Next Ten Years

With a re-shaped workforce, we aim to create opportunities for millions to engage with England’s heritage. We will innovate sustainable approaches to steward and conserve our historic sites, enhance visitor experiences, and grow our membership. We will also focus on becoming a truly equitable, diverse, and inclusive charity, resonating with everyone across society.
