About the Organisation: The Bristol Temple Quarter Limited Liability Partnership (BTQ LLP) is embarking on one of the largest urban regeneration projects in the UK, transforming over 135 hectares of brownfield land into a thriving mixed-use community. Bristol Temple Quarter aims to deliver sustainable regeneration, inclusive economic growth, and significant community benefits. With plans to create over 10,000 new homes, more than 22,000 new jobs, and substantial improvements to infrastructure and public spaces, the impact on Bristol and the wider region will be profound. The BTQ LLP was established by Bristol City Council, Homes England and the West of England Combined Authority to drive forward this change and=deliver on a shared vision for sustainable growth in the West of England.
About the Roles: As a Non-Executive Director, you will provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to the executive directors of the Bristol Temple Quarter LLP. You will contribute to the strategic direction, governance, and performance monitoring of the corporation, ensuring it meets its objectives of sustainable regeneration and inclusive economic growth. Your responsibilities will include supporting the delivery of comprehensive regeneration, monitoring performance against targets, overseeing governance processes, ensuring effective resource allocation, providing guidance and support to the executive team, and building relationships with partners and stakeholders. You will attend and actively participate in board meetings and sub-committees, ensuring efficient conduct and decision-making, and prepare annual reports for stakeholders.
About the Candidates: We are seeking to build a board of dedicated individuals with the experience, expertise and passion to shape change at BTQ. We’re looking for people with an understanding of Bristol and the West of England, the potential for positive change that BTQ represents, and people who can bring fresh perspectives to BTQ.
We are looking for new Board members with broad experience and expertise in placemaking, urban regeneration, and real estate; infrastructure delivery; community and stakeholder engagement; sustainability; inclusive growth; expertise in Bristol's key sectors, including digital and creative industries; and finance and governance.
The ability to navigate political environments and build strong relationships with public and private sectors is crucial, as is a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and upholding public service values.
The estimated time commitment for this role is approximately 2 days per month, including attendance at board meetings, sub-committees, events, and stakeholder meetings as required.
