As part of an interdisciplinary university, the School has strong links with the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, Leeds Institute for Fluid Dynamics, the Bragg Centre for Materials Research, and the Astbury Centre for Structural Biology. It is a partner of the Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.
The School offers six BSc degrees and a four-year integrated Masters in Mathematics, with options for industry experience, study abroad, and employability skills. It also offers six Masters degrees, including an online MSc in Data Science and an MSc in Financial Mathematics in partnership with the Business School.
We are seeking a new Head of School of Mathematics to provide the strategic vision and leadership necessary for the School to successfully develop and deliver its plans through inspiring, motivating and developing staff to achieve their full potential. Our next Head of School will maximise strategic opportunities arising from the changing landscape of higher education and the University’s strategic plan, whilst leading and delivering excellence in research and education. You will be an active member of the University’s Leadership Forum and of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Executive Committee.
