Hardware Lead – Wireless, BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, Guildford, Highly Competitive Package

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence are a leading supplier of cyber, intelligence and security solutions to the UK Government and its trusted partners. 

The Wireless Products team forms an important part of the business and are based across three locations in the UK, with a dedicated building at the Surrey Headquarters in Guilford. They employ over 150 people and are continuing to grow, supporting professionals from diverse backgrounds across engineering, physics and mathematics. The team develop technology that delivers in extreme operational environments, including under water and outer space. With leading capabilities in Electronics Design, Signal Processing, FPGAs, RF Technologies, Software and Modelling.

We are now looking for hands on technical leaders, with extensive knowledge of high-speed digital to take ownership of a small project team, to deliver cutting edge electronic design and technology dedicated to maintaining national security.

The Candidate

  • A hands-on lead hardware developer, able to lead from the front and oversee projects involving complex electronics design.
  • Highly adept in high speed digital design (e.g. using Xilinx MPSoC, DDR memory, 10/40/100 GbE networking technologies), with experience in owning and delivering complex design work.
  • Desirable to have experience in areas supporting electronics product development, e.g. EMC, cooling, mechanical CAD.
  • Desirable to have awareness/experience with RF design.
  • Desirable to have experience leading/coaching other engineers.
  • High energy and able to work in a fast paced environment with rapid design cycles, solving complex problems.

Other Details

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
